I'm moving to Russia!!! I need some tips/ advice please..........?
i am sick of life in the United States and want to move. I traveled the world, and I'm fascinated with Russian and Ukrainian culture. I want to move there. I have a Masters Degree in Energy Utilities and a bachelors in Electrical Engineering. I have a huge chunk of money i could live off of very comfortably in these countries. I know the requirements to become a legal citizen and i cannot fulfill these because I cannot speak fluent Russian. Will I have a hard time finding a "job" somewhere? and will the governments really care if I overstay my 3 month period? can I claim political asylum or something? please help me i need out NOW...thanks 
I am currently studying Russian in Novosibirsk, Russia and have been offered three different jobs to teach English with the only requirement being that I was born in the U.S. I also have had lots of experience looking into visa options for staying in Russia. My advice, find a place that will give you a work visa to teach English for a year. During that year, find out how to apply for a 3-year residency visa. I know people who hired a lawyer to do all the footwork and if you don't speak Russian, that may be your only option. You want to get your application in on the first business day of the new year. Each region of Russia has a quota for how many visas they can give out, so the sooner you apply the better your chances.
